Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), has undertaken an inspection tour of ongoing development projects across the campus as part of efforts to strengthen infrastructure and enhance the University's academic environment.

The exercise, led by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, and members of the University Management team, was aimed at assessing the progress of selected projects and ensuring their alignment with the institution's development priorities.
The tour also formed part of the University's broader agenda to sustain and expand its position as a centre of excellence through continuous investment in infrastructure to support teaching, learning and research.

Projects inspected included the Multipurpose Laboratory, the School of Graduate Studies Building Extension, and a three-storey office and classroom complex for the College of Engineering. The team also visited key facilities under the University Information Technology Services (UITS), including the Powerhouse, Hardware Centre, Support Centre, Data Centre, Network Operations Centre, Security Operations Centre, CCTV Control Centre and Disaster Recovery Centre.

Other sites visited were Phase II of the IMPACT Project, the University Printing Press, the Department of Horticulture office complex, the KNUST Teaching Hospital, the SRC Hostel Extension project, facilities within the College of Science, and the newly renovated University radio station, Focus FM.
According to University authorities, the projects reflect KNUST's continued commitment to infrastructure development and the advancement of its strategic vision. They noted that emphasis remains on quality assurance, accountability and ensuring that all projects align with the institution's long-term transformation agenda.
At the end of the tour, Professor Dickson expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded at the various sites and said she was optimistic that the projects would be completed on schedule to ease pressure on existing facilities.
She further noted that key challenges identified during the inspection would be documented and brought to the attention of the incoming Vice-Chancellor to ensure continuity and effective follow-up on all ongoing projects.
